Loan Periods for Visiting Scholars

Visiting Scholars associated with The George Washington University may borrow the following materials.  The law library is not a pick-up location for items borrowed through CLS.

Materials Loan Period Renewable
Consortium Loan Service (CLS) for pick-up at the Gelman or Himmelfarb libraries 42 days 42 days, with a limit of 3 renewals
Reserve 2 hours Yes, after a 30-minute waiting period
Bound Periodicals  Not applicable  

All items borrowed from the law library are subject to recall and must be returned within 7 days of receipt of the recall notice.  

Loan Periods for GW Law Visiting Scholars

GW Law Visiting Scholars may borrow the following materials:

Materials Loan Period Renewable
General Collections One semester or expiration date of library record, whichever is sooner One semester or expiration date of library record, whichever is sooner
Reserve 2 hours Yes, after a 30-minute waiting period
Bound Periodicals Not applicable
Consortium Loan Service 42 days 42 days, with a limit of 3 renewals

All items borrowed from the law library are subject to recall and must be returned within 7 days of receipt of the recall notice.  

Use "my library account" to manage renewals for law library materials and CLS materials.
