Loan periods and fees

Loan Periods for GW Law Students

GW Law students may borrow the following materials:

Materials Loan Period Renewable (materials may not be overdue)
General Collections One semester Yes
Reserve 2 hours Yes, after a 30-minute waiting period
Bound Periodicals Not applicable
Interlibrary Loan Set by the lending library Set by the lending library.
Consortium Loan Service 42 days 42 days, with a limit of 3 renewals

All items borrowed from the law library are subject to recall and must be returned within 7 days of receipt of the recall notice.  Recalled items borrowed through interlibrary loan must be returned immediately.

Use "my library account" to manage renewals for law library materials and CLS materials.

Distance Education Students

GW Law students enrolled as distance education students may borrow materials from the law library's collection or from other libraries through interlibrary loan.  Books sent to the library will be mailed to the student's address in their library record, unless another address is noted in the comments section of the request.  Students are responsible for returning books to the library on or before the due date  Students are responsible for payment of return postage or delivery charges.  We recommend returning books by using package delivery services that include tracking of packages, such as UPS, FedEx or Priority Mail.
