Interlibrary Resource Sharing and Document Services at Jacob Burns Law Library

Consortium Loan Service (CLS)

The library belongs to the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC).  Students, faculty and staff may borrow items from any of the libraries in the network.   In addition to the Jacob Burns Law Library, participating libraries include:   American University,  AU Pence Law Library, Catholic University, Gallaudet University, George Mason University, George Washington University Libraries, GW Himmelfarb Medical Library, Georgetown University, Georgetown Law Library, Howard University, Marymount University and the University of the District of Columbia.

Submitting a CLS request

  • All requests are submitted through the library catalog, Jacob.  
  • Sign in using your @law email credentials
  • Search for the item, using 'WRLC', and click on "CLS - 2 day request"  
  • Patrons are notified, via email, when the item is ready for pickup.
  • Return the item to the library circulation desk, on or before the due date.  
  • Questions may be sent to clsburns@law.gwu.edu

Renewing a CLS book

Go to the "My Account" section of your circulation record.  You will see what books you have checked out per institution.  Click on the book and renew your the book. If you are not allowed to renew you must return the book by the due date.
