A/V Services for Events at GW Law

Do I need to fill out the Google Form?

Yes. The Google Form ensures that we can efficiently gather all the information we need and the requirements you have for support.

Please fill out our support form here.

Do I need to do anything else after I submit the Google Form?

After submitting the Google Form, you should wait for an email from us. We will process your submission as soon as possible and will email you to confirm your requests and or ask follow-up questions.

Our general process is outlined here.

Can the Media Center stay throughout the event in case something happens?

No, we cannot accommodate staying for the entirety of the event. If an AV issue arises, please contact us and we will attend to the issue as soon as possible.

Can I have more microphones for my event?

No. The amount of microphones listed in this guide for each room is what’s available and already installed and programmed to work with the room’s AV system. You are free to use as many as what's available in the room already.

Please see a list of rooms and their technology availability here.

Can I use Zoom in the room?

Yes. All of our "event" rooms and almost all of our classrooms have Zoom capability. Please see our room technology list here to check.

For details on how to use Zoom in our Law School rooms click here.

Does the Media Center create Zoom meetings?

No, the Media Center does not schedule Zooms for events or provide meeting links. It is the event host's (or another individual involved with and attending the event) responsibility to schedule the Zoom, provide the Zoom link to attendees, and start the Zoom at the event.

The Media Center is available to assist with the room technology when starting the Zoom in the room.

Are events automatically recorded?

No. You must let us know before the event that you want it recorded. Be sure to include in an email to us:

  • event name
  • date
  • room
  • start time
  • end time

I'm having an external group come in and host an event, can you log in to the computer for them?

No, the Media Center cannot log in to the computers for anyone. The external group would need a GW affiliated person/sponsor to use their credentials and log in to the computer for them.

What if there is a change in our needs?

Please let us know as soon as possible by emailing us at media@law.gwu.edu to let us know of the change.

Can the Media Center edit the event recording(s)?

We don’t provide editing services. The extent of editing we can provide is to trim the beginning or end of the recording to when the presentation/event actually begins and ends. You must request this from us when requesting the recording.
