Updating / Citators
Use Shepard's on Lexis, KeyCite on Westlaw, or BCITE on Bloomberg Law to determine whether a particular decision has been overruled either totally or partially, if it has been distinguished, or if it has been followed by other courts, as well as to find cases and other sources that cite it.
- Shepard'sA case can be Shepardized by using any of the following methods: clicking on the Shepard's Signal when viewing a case, clicking on the "Shepardize document" link in the right column when viewing a case, click on "Citing Decisions," or using shep: followed by the case citation in the search box.
- KeyCiteKeyCite can be accessed by any of the following methods: clicking on the KeyCite flag when viewing a case, clicking on the "Negative Treatment" tab at the top of the page, or typing kc or keycite followed by a citation in the search box.
- BCITETo access BCITE Analysis, load an opinion and click on "BCITE Analysis."
