Class Recording Policy

The Law School has a recording policy that allows the faculty member to choose their record and release preferences. The faculty member chooses one option from the Recording section and one option from the Release section to create their policy.

Recording

(1) Recording by default.

(2) No recording by default.

 

Release

(1) Release by default.

(2) Release for pre-approved reasons [determined by Dean of Students Office] or upon prior consent.

(3) Release upon prior consent only.

To request a recording for a No recording by default (2) and or a Release upon prior consent (2 and 3) class:

You must email the Media Center at media@law.gwu.edu with as much notice as possible (ideally, one day) with the following information:

  • Course number and section number (e.g. 9999-10 Web Portal Law)
  • Date
  • The professor's clear written permission to record and or release (via forwarded email)
