Information for Students Regarding Virtual Learning

About This Page

For the Summer 2020 semester, several publishers are discounting the purchase price for textbooks and/or study aids. Each publisher has a specific process for accessing or requesting materials, and some have specific requirements. Please check the list of publishers below to see what they are offering and how to access their materials.

The Bluebook

Free 60-day access keys for The Bluebook (www.legalbluebook.com)  are available. GW Law students who need a key should send a request to electronicservices@law.gwu.libanswers.com.   Make sure to send your email from your GW Law email account, e.g. astudent@law.gwu.edu.

Wolters Kluwer - Study Aids

The GW Law Library now provides access to the Wolters Kluwer Online Study Aid Library, which includes the Examples & Explanations series and Crunch Time study guides.  Current GW Law students can access it here: https://gwlaw.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://ebooks.aspenlaw.com/bookshelf.  When prompted to login use your GW Law email address and password.

Wolters Kluwer - Textbooks (Includes Aspen Casebook Series)

Starting May 31st, all of their digital CasebookConnect titles will be 40% off the print copy price.  You must make the purchase through the  www.casebookconnect.com site. If you took advantage of the Spring 2020 free access program, make sure to use the same email address and account password to retain any highlights or notes you already added.

West Academic Publishing (Includes Foundation Press)

West Academic Publishing, which includes Foundation Press, is offering a 15% discount on print and electronic casebooks purchased through their web store.   To get the discount at checkout, you will need to enter GW Law's discount code. Students registered for a Summer 2020 course that uses a West Academic or Foundation Press textbook can request the code by emailing electronicservices@law.gwu.edu.

Students who purchase books directly from the West Academic web store will also have access to the e-book version through the end of the fall semester.

For students who purchased/rented through other retailers, West Academic will also provide free digital access with proof of purchase or rental. Please be sure to keep any receipts.
