Online Bluebook

The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation is the standard manual for citations in legal writing.  The 21st edition of The Bluebook was published in July 2020.  It is available in both print and electronic versions.  With the release of the 21st edition, the electronic version of The Bluebook moved to a new platform that is somewhat more difficult to use than the previous platform, as it lacks both an index and advanced searching.

  • The Bluebook's official site (https://www.legalbluebook.com) offers both the print version and subscriptions to the electronic version.
  • Print copies of the 21st edition of The Bluebook can be purchased from vendors such as The Lawbook Exchange and the GW Bookstore.
  • Note:  Table T.2 (Foreign Jurisdictions) is not included in the print version.  It is available online free-of-charge here.
