Off-Campus Access to Online Books, Journals, and Databases

Using GWU Libraries Databases

While most of the links in the Burns Library's guides and catalog records connect to databases that the Burns Library subscribes to directly, some of them lead to databases to which the GWU Libraries subscribe.  Examples of this include JSTOR, Project Muse, EconLit, and the Oxford English Dictionary.  If you click on a GWU Libraries link while off-campus, you will connect to the GWU Libraries proxy server.  Use of the GWU Libraries proxy server differs from use of the GW Law proxy server in two ways:

  • The GWU Libraries proxy server has its own login screen.  You can recognize it by the GWU logo at the top and the words "The George Washington University Web Single Sign-on" below it.  You should also see "" at the begining of the page's URL.
