Members of GW’s law faculty, both current and emeritus, have donated papers relating to their work in the classroom, as well as law projects in which they have participated outside the classroom. Appearing in the archive are the papers of Professor Thomas Morgan, Oppenheim Professor of Antitrust and Trade Regulation Law, generated in the course of his association with three national law projects: the Model Rules of Professional Conduct project (c.1979-1983), the ABA Commission on Professionalism (1986), and the Restatement (Third), The Law Governing Lawyers (1986-2000). Professor John A. Spanogle, William Wallace Kirkpatrick Research Professor of Law, donated papers generated during his service as a volunteer for the U.S. Department of State, working at UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) (1982-1989). In the area of land development law, Professor Emeritus of Law James M. Brown donated papers associated with his groundbreaking upper-level Land Development Law course (a.k.a. “The Game”), the simulation course he developed and taught for many years.
Joining the Dembling collection in the arena of government procurement are the papers of the late professor of government procurement law and co-founder of the Government Procurement Law Program, John Cibinic, Jr., donated in 2007.
